Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to aid GCF to secure funding – Deputy Minister

FEC Meets Minister

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Mark Okraku-Mantey has been active practitioner and advocate for cultural issues. When he met with the newly elected Functional Executive Committee of the Ghana Culture Forum at his office in Accra last Tuesday, 2nd May 2023, he noted that his passion for developments in the creative space has not dwindled since his appointment as Deputy Minister for the sector. He indicated that was open to leading and aiding the Ghana Culture Forum to source funding from notable corporate entities.
He added that many times, players in the creative space misconstrue the work of the Ministry; he expressed that Ministry’s work is largely geared towards policy interventions than funding.

He expressed his delight about the work of the Ghana Culture Forum and hence was pleased to have noted that GCF’s earlier meeting with his boss, Hon. Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, had generated positive results. He added that aside from the Ghana Culture Day celebrations, he was looking forward to many more collaboration between the two entities as the Ministry has a special focus on Culture for 2023 and 2024.
