Funding

GCF serves as a bridge between government and the creative industry. We facilitate partnerships and advocate for the sector's development. In our role, we:

  • Secure funding: We actively seek and secure funding opportunities from government agencies and other sources to support the creative industry.
  • Develop funding mechanisms: To ensure transparency and accountability, we create mechanisms for disbursing funds to our members.
  • Provide grants: We award grants to our members based on the merits of their project proposals and adherence to our guidelines.
  • Oversee grant disbursement: We establish a Grants Committee to oversee the grant disbursement process, ensuring fairness and transparency.

By providing these services, GCF plays a crucial role in supporting the growth and success of the creative industry.

The Ghana Culture Forum has three main funding sources: membership dues, government grant and external grants/donations. Majority of the one-time Government of Ghana support when into the support of grassroot projects and activities through the Ghana Culture Funding Scheme. It is quite evident that GCF can do more with the provision of resources. We therefore call on the benevolent agencies through partnership and collaboration to help provide sustainable funding for GCF activities and work.

Ghana's rich tapestry of music, dance, and storytelling is under threat. Timeworn traditions fade, silenced by the echoes of progress. But at the Ghana Culture Forum (GCF), we're weaving a brighter future, thread by thread.
