GCF Congratulates Mahama

The Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) extends our warmest compliments to President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his recent election victory. This momentous occasion marks a significant step towards fostering unity and development within our beloved nation.

In light of President Mahama's commitment to the cultural and creative industries, GCF is eager to support the Black Star Experience initiative. This ambitious programme aims to enhance Ghana's cultural landscape, celebrating our rich heritage while driving economic growth through tourism and the arts. We believe that the Black Star Experience will play a pivotal role in revitalising our creative sector and promoting Ghanaian culture on the global stage.

We also commend Vice President Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia for his exemplary statesmanship in conceding defeat, a gesture that has significantly eased tensions and demonstrated a commitment to peace and democracy. His actions reflect the spirit of cooperation and respect that is essential for our nation’s progress.

Furthermore, we recognise the tireless efforts of practitioners within the creative and cultural industries who have actively advocated for a peaceful electoral process. Their activism has been crucial in promoting a credible election, ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and respected.

Lastly, we express our gratitude to the good people of Ghana for their remarkable tolerance and goodwill throughout this electoral period. Their commitment to peace will pave the way for a smooth transition and sets a positive example for future elections.

It is remarkable how the two parties are working together already, to ensure a smooth transition. This is the peace required for national development. For us as a Forum, we wish that all and sundry will come together and work for the development of our nation.

As we move forward, GCF remains dedicated to collaborating with President Mahama's administration to harness the full potential of Ghana’s cultural and creative industries for national development. Together, we can build a vibrant future that honours our past while embracing new opportunities.
